USSA Fishing at Rend Lake.

The United Special Sportsmans Alliance is coming to Rend this Monday the 4th. They are looking for more volunteers with boats to help take these kids fishing. It will be held at the Rend Lake Resort. If you are not familiar with this program then this would be a great time to see what it is all about. These kids are in need of help from good people like us to get away from the stresses of life and what they have to face every day with what they are going through. So if you have a boat and are willing to help out contact Brigid O'Donoghue at [email protected] and let her know.
I know there are several guides on here from Rend that are going to be there to help. Lets please not make this a competition with each other. No one cares who is the best fisherman or who comes in with the most fish. This is a day for these kids to enjoy. It don't matter if you fish for crappie, bass, bream or catfish just as long as the kids get out on the boat and enjoy the day.

The Resort is kind enough to donate the rooms and provide the meals for these kids and their families. These kids come in on Sunday and stay the night at the Resort, fish on Monday and then leave on Tuesday. They will also have someone with a boat to pull an intertube for the kids to go out on.

Great cause and great people. Last years event was awesome! Everyone should help if they get the chance. Check out the website and read up on this organization www.childswish.com. Brigid does great things for these kids! If you enjoy helping out for a good cause, you will feel complete and blessed after a day on the water with these kids! Get involved!

Awesome cause, had a great time last year! I spoke with Brigid, got a trip already scheduled that day, sure would like to be there. I would recommend it to anyone, great kids and when the day is over, I promise you will be proud you were a part of it!

I turned down 2 trips just to help. They still need someone with a boat to pull the tube. A person taking pictures will be in the boat with you. If anyone knows someone who would pull the tube let me or Scott know. Need to be at resort 8am. Free breakfast and lunch.

I have one guy to at least pull the tube for half the day then he has to go to work, I hope he is still on for taking his boat. Never hurts to have more than one.

Went great. Good time had by all. Lots of fish caught, swimming, tubing, going fast in the boat, and just an all around great day on the water with a bunch of great kids. If you didn't get to help this year I encourage you to make it to next years event, the more volunteers we get the more kids can be invited.
