Got to fish LOE for a few hours both Sun/Mon morning. Ended up with 8 on Sun and 12 on Mon when my son went with me. He caught the biggest crappie I think he had ever caught. Weighted 1.5 lbs. All in 12-18 feet of water. The wierdest thing about all this was 5 of these fish we threw away after filleting them. These were all the smallest fish, under 10". The meat was a bright yellow color. All of the larger fish were fine. Do these fish have some disease? Is this why the Crappie population on the lake seems to be way down? Any thoughts?

Those are some dandy fish your son caught, Congrats! Not sure about the small fish being diseased, but throwing them away was probably a good move.

Very nicely done men! My family and I are heading down there next weekend with a buddy of mine and his family. I'm looking forward to getting away for the weekend and maybe getting to do some fishing with him, as we haven't gotten to fish together at all this year. 12-18 FOW, were you guys verticle jigging or casting?
