    Default Lake Lou

Hit the water at first light with Dad today at Lake Lou Yager. First two hours started off pretty slow and we struggled to find a steady fish producing spot. Got on a good spot that has produced good fish for us in the past, and worked them over. It wasn't hot and heavy, but it was steady. Spent 4 hours fishing a spot about 50 yards long along some rip rap and wound up with 39 Crappie, 1 Gill, and 1 Cat that weighed in at 5.11 lbs. All were caught casting slider rigs, working 1-6 FOW. Shade seemed to be the key, and the bight was light. Judging by the fish we cleaned, I'd say the spawn is still going, but on the downswing. North end of the lake had a nice stain to light mud color. The South end and all of the coves were a little muddier. Lots of boats there fishing today.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
