Default The summer bite is on!!!

Had just a 4 hour trip yesterday and the fish were on fire!! Went to Crab which the fishing is usually great this time of year. Had some good quality with many around the pound mark and one nice black crappie weighing in right at 2 lbs! Many of you know but for those who don't, the summer bite is the absolute best of the year. Fish are feeding heavily to build them selves up from the spawn and that's what they're in the process of right now on Crab, Kinkaid, and on Rend. The summer bite is just begining so it should be some good fishing for some time!

Kyle, is that bite in the deeper water, 8-12 fow, and is it still minners and /or jigs? Do you ever troll 200/300 size Bandits? Is that effective around here. I do that a lot at Granada and Enid in Mississippe. Just curious. In the timber or just find the shad?

Thanks for your up date. I always look forward to it. We need to shake hands one of these days.

Buddy, the fish i've been on have been deeper water on the main lake. Minnows were definitely what they prefered! I mainly push crankbaits but normally in a tournament sitiuation. It would work on the Southern Illinois lakes if you get in the right areas.

Nice fish Kyle! Look like some gooduns!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
