Default In the bushes at Rend.

Ok guys the bite is on in the bushes at Rend. I get asked all the time about when is a good time to fish the bushes on Rend so I figured I would post this. If you have never fished Rend lake in the bushes during the spawn you are missing out on one big stressful good time. Be prepared to get hung up and throw out a few cuss words but it is well worth it when you pull that slab up out of the middle of buck brush. This stuff is unique to Rend and makes for some awesome fishin during the spawn.

Oh yea and I finally got my home computer workin. (STUPID COMPUTER)!

I agree, we bowfished Sat night, and the bushes were full of crappie exiting when we pulled up on the brush. They also appeared to be in the cain of fragmite.

So how long do they stay around the bushes down there? I am taking a kid from the church I work at the two days after Easter, and have never fished Rend Lake before. I told him to pick where he wants to go, and he picked there!

What is the best area for the bushes? Are you talking North, South, East or West end of the lake?

The cold front will help cool the water down so the spawn will last thru the end of may. I think the big females are still in 6ft to 10ft of water because all we are catching is 9 to 12 inch males and very few females. as of what end of the lake to fish right now it doesnt matter you just have to found the bushes that dont have much water behind them, fish about a foot deep and you wont have any problems finding them.
