Hey guys! This is my first post but I have been using your post to smoke the crappie for the last month. SO, Thanks!
On May 5th (Wed) there is a firefighter benefit crappie tournament at Lake Shelbyville. It looks like my firends are no going to be able to get off work and I need a partner (fee is around $35 per person).
I've got a boat, electronics, good knowledge of the lake, and have caught my fair share of nice fish there.
I'm looking for someone that knows what they are doing and might even have some honey holes we can hit up! I don't care about winning, I just want to have fun and give it our best. Because it is a firefighter tournament the money goes to a good cause and there is a chance to win some sweet prizes. So lets get together, have fun and win some stuff!!:D
Please call if interested. I live in the Champaign area. Josh - 217-714-2285
All PM's responded to and thanks! I want to bump this one more time... It looks like no matter what there are guys willing to come fish and thats awesome!
But, nobody that responded was familiar with the lake which is OK. Hopefully someone that knows the lake will respond to this? The spots that we've been fishing have been producing monster fish (ever fish is over 10" with some hitting the 14" mark) but if my areas are cold it would be really nice to have a back up plan. Or, use my spots as a back up... Either way!
Shoot me a PM if interested. Tourny is WED so hit me up ASAP.

Josh,
How many boats are expected to be in the tournment? What time is check-in, and what is the expected payout> I fished the methodist tournment last weekend and finished in top 5, found big fish late. I think i would be interested. I've been reading this board for the last 4months it is amzing how wuch you can learn.
Have heard that there are going to be 150 boats. Crowded day on the lake with all those not tournament fishing.
Josh, you do know that there must be a firefighter in the boat don't you?
Hope you find a partner and get to enjoy the day. I'll be there. Never done a crappie tourny before, but this event is named after a high school friend of mine that passed away a couple of years ago, so I just could resist getting in on it. I am so looking forward to it!

I have heard there could be 150 boats. I think it starts at 8:30 and I don't know the payout. The Champaign Fire Department website is not working right now so I can't check. The website is champaignlocal1260.com if you want to check it out. It is on the left side under events.
What time and what ramp is the weigh in going to be? Thanks
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
Start is 8:30 at Eagle Creek, weigh in at 2:00. Should be a good time.
