Hands down…..I would use the air rifle.

There is an old cemetery in town. An early morning visit will have you seeing a hundred of them roaming around. Amazing mess of squirrels and it is absolutely no hunting allowed. I always wanted to sneak in there with my air rifle and pop a few.

I don’t shoot the ones that hang in my yard. Thems is dog toys. She howls and carries on as they go from limb to limb. Once across the fence she kind of gives up on them.

That pup sure has you excited to get you some more tails.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Lots of squirrels here. If I pick off a couple in the yard, they just get replaced. Anxious for her to get a hold of one. 2 more weeks. Plus fresh tails to tie with. Hoping to get a big fox squirrel this year. We are overrun with blacks and grays.

Air rifle would be hard to beat for work at home. They make moderators for air rifles to cut the Boise out. A suppressor for an air rifle. Make things quiet and subtle

Most of hunting season my closest neighbors are 100 yards away. That Gamo Whispet model is still a bit loud, but certainly safe. Plus deadly. I have taken a couple eating squirrels with the slingshot but mostly redsquirrels, chipmunks, and starlings.

I have a .22 caliber Stoeger with silencer built in barrel. Quieter but like MCG1 said it still makes a pop. Certainly nothing to disturb a neighborhood or make one think gunshots.

Any suppressor can be improved with ammo that travels 950 fps or slower.
