or at least in Texas best I can tell ya,,,,,,,
...I have hunted for a very long time in this state and to be sure can count on one hand the number of gobblers I have seen with OFF colored beards.
this bird appears to have a blondish red version and I promise you after about a bunch of bird sightings in the cross timbers area of texas you will see VERY few if any like this one .
I saw my last strange color phase beard about 20 years ago and only saw one other before that about 5 years prior to that one .
to be sure they are cool looking animals …
hope you enjoy the views

That's a new one on me too. I love your sharing of your Texas wildlife pics with us.

Awesome!
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
I have spent many years in the woods and have never seen that. I did kill a hen with a beard one year, but never a color phase like that one. Game cameras are so cool.

First one I ever saw was a big gobbler I whacked and didn’t notice it till after I downed him.
His beard was banded ....half gray half black with about a 1/2 orange band in the middle .
When I showed it told folks they said I colored it and didn’t believe me .
The second one was on the other side of the river from where I saw this bird and larger and bright orange .
I didn’t expire that bird and probably won’t this one either .
This one is the only one I have a photo of to prove they exist ....
When I told folks about the big one across the river they told me I was full of it ...
That is true to some degree ...but this ain’t the case this time
you know it does not appear to be starting just on the tip and to be sure I never saw one that looked like the one in the photo of the bread rot.
and it is only on one bird out of all of them ,but to be sure it might be so ,,,,I don't know ...
but then again I aint a turkey expert and have no clue on this subject ….interesting none the less
