No problem. I understand things do get busy. Just whenever. Hopefully I should be out of the ARMY in the next 3-4 months if they ever get through with my medical discharge and I will have lots of time to spend up there. I may take some crickets up there with me tonight. hmmm. Gonna be bass, cracker, and crappie fishing all in a night.... I need more time..:D

Got the message Bill it was after I left. I did howerever get 2 bass...one was about a 1lb and the other caught by my partner was about 2lb. Got a hit that bout took the pole out of my hand. Did not catch that one..was not expecting to get hit 4 inches of the bank and was messin with my drink. Went and did some searching for a ledge like Joe taught me...do not know his screen name... and caught 10 Crappie. Biggest being about 13-13.5 inches long. Kept 9. Had a nice dinner last night. First time eating crappie and it was great. The fish were kinda skinny so I am hoping the fatten up a little since I guess they are not to long off the bed? Seen lots of fish coming through my spot. Hoepfully in about a month when I get to fish it again the bite will be better. :D
His screen name is jafacman glad to see you caught you a few Chris sure there will be many more
Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum, but i've been lurking for a couple of weeks now.
I am planning on trying out Juliette this Friday night, and any pointers will be appreciated. I've never night fished with floating lights, but figured I would give it a try.
I was thinking about putting in a Dames Ferry and looking for fish in the coves around there, but everything i've read indicates Holly Grove as the better place to fish for Slabs.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Welcome Clint31, glad to have you. I don't fish Juliette but I have a friend who fishes it at night and he catches some real nice crappie. I don't know where exactly he fishes but it is in the trees in holes that drop off. He goes out in the trees and finds a deeper hole and puts out his lights. I have been amazed at the crappie he has caught. I have never done very well for crappie during the day at Juliette. One beautiful Feburary day I fished all morning and did not have a fish at Juliette so we loaded up at lunch and went to Tobo and caught 80 before dark. I knew it was to pretty of a day to not catch fish. Good luck, Wes
Thanks for the info Slabby!
I'll post a report of how i do and what (if any) tactics i find that work.
Ok, as promised here are my results.....
Got to holly grove at eight, waited around the boat ramp until eight forty five due to the lightning. Found a spot within sight of the boat ramp that had a four foot depth change, from twelve to sixteen feet. Put the lights out at nine, first and only fish at nine twenty. Started heading back to the boat ramp at nine forty, the bottom dropped out at nine forty five. Gonna try again tonight. Again, any advice is appreciated.
