    Default Altamaha River

For all those interested, the Altamaha is back in the banks and a full moon is on the way. Get them bream poles out.
    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

The Altamaha will rise again in a few days, the Oconee is up to almost 8' today and rising here in Dublin. Maybe it won't be enough to hurt anything though.
It aint how big or how fancy your boat is, it's how many fish you can put in the frying pan!

me and a friend fished morgan's lake today and caught 41 with some nice size ones included. tried beetle spins and crickets thurs. and caught 1. tightlined louisiana pinks today and did much better. the river is just in the banks and all the morgan lakes are in the trees and heavy stained. didn't talk to anyone who said they were doing any good. we did see several mullet jumping.

shelcrackers are bottom feeders they don`t hit lures that much . i have better luck with large louisiana pinks. whole not half on the bottom.

Went Saturday and the water is rising, looks like chocolate syrup and I only got one bite.

    Crappiepro2009,
I grew up fishing the Long County side of the river. However, hunting/fishing club prices ran me away for the last 10 or so years. Morgan lake is where I usually put in.

Haven't heard any reports on Mullet but it is that time. I remember sitting on a sandbar as a kid and watching them jump in the boat.
