    Default Ft. Stewart Fishing

I am trying to learn about Fishing on Ft. Stewart. Just picked up my annual Fishing Pass.

I think Georgia Outdoor News had an article on Ft. Stewart Crappie
fishing several years back but can't seem to find it.

Also, would appreciate a heads-up on best ponds, recommendations, etc.

    Regards

Smackover when you picked up your pass and perment did you get a map of Stewart? I have mine open on the table looking at the ponds. I remember Drill Instructer talking about a pond just outside Hinesville that he caught some nice crappie in. it seems like it was Holbrook pound. he said if you are going to use jigs to throw something with purple in it. contac DI by pm and ask him to help you I am sure he will be glad to share info with you. he is a heck of a nice person. get the map if you don't have it, it will help you find the ponds. good luck! Fishing on Fort Stewart
This website has some nice maps. Showing fish attractors. I have fished Glisson Pond and Pineview. Never any of the others. Glisson is pretty good, Pineview I never had any luck in.

I was thinking about hitting Metz this weekend, please let me know how you do R2G.
    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

I'm too am trying to find crappie waters around Savannah Area and work as civilian on base. As soon as I get my permit, I'll try on base but want to find alternative crappie waters within one hour drive- I usually fish from my kayak

Remember there are alligators in some parts of Ft Stewart creeks and ponds, I know I was station there, so be careful!
