Me and Autiger went today and kept 43 what I consider solid fish. We didn't weigh any, but I'm guessing that we had 2 or 3 around a 1 1/2 lbs. for our big fish. Most of the ones that we kept were 3/4 lb or better. Like most of the other reports, we threw back more than we kept. We caught more white crappie long lining today than I ever have. I was wondering if some of you Blackshear regulars that long line usually catch a bunch of whites???

Haha that musta been ya'll in the Rangers, and no this very strange to be catching that many whites that far down the lake, me and Shine have noticed that as well, kinda weird for Blackshear.. Most I've caught have been above 280.

Glad to see ya'll caught some decent fish. We fished hard but came up with very few that were fillet size. Big fish today was 1 lbs 8 oz....and it was a white. I have caught very few blacks the last few trips. Not sure what's going on at B'shear. I have never caught very many whites until this year. Usually they are above the RR and deep when spider rigging or night fishing.

my buddy and I finished the day sat with 70. we had alot of nice fish. Did have to throw back quite a few though. Managed to catch a 20 pd flathead catfish also, which took almost ten min to land. Had a great day of fishing all together.

We ran up with flathead right after lunch and he did have some cats mixed in with his fish, must be what he's talking about.

What exactly is a "keeper" sized fish when there is no official/ legal size limit?

I guess thats according to how hungry you are:D....I try to never keep anything under 10 inches, but usually like to keep only the ones 12 inches or better.
