Had planned on heading to Sinclair or Oconee this weekend myself, but with the approaching cold fronts I decided against it. Good Luck and GO DEEP!

Not going saturday but I've heard its still dead up there. Talked to someone that went last friday and they never got a bite. I'd focus on channels and ledges and go really deep like dirtroad said.

What part of the Lake Oconee stays the warmest this time of year?

I was going to drive up, but the cold front changed my mind. I don't want to drive 7 hours round trip when the fishing will more than likely be impossible.

My cousin fished Monday for four hours and caught one crappie. He put in at Long Shoals and fished Richland Creek and Double Branch Area. He is an excellent fisherman so this just confirms everyone elses sentiment about Oconee being a dead zone. Looks like West POint or The Hill this Saturday.

The north end(above I-20) of Oconee warms up first in the spring but as for now I have no idea. I would guess the north end is still warmer now b/c of it being so shallow.

I fished Sugar Creek area last Sunday. We fished deep, not so deep, slow, fast, ledges, flats.....No matter how we combed our hair, the fish would not bite. 1 catfish and 1 striper was all we caught...Water temp was 43. Marked a lot of fish but getting em to bite was not in the plans that day...Trips like that will humble you fast!!!....Good Luck.

We fished hard last Saturday at the north most point of West Point Lake and the water temp was 41 degrees. We caught 45 and kept 33 but every fish came out of the deep channels. Craig, pm me about your Saturday plans.
