First and Only crappie of the night

Went out to the top end of the lake Saturday a little before midnight. Put in at Blue Springs and had motor issues at first, so we trolled over to the train trestle bridge and tied up. Dropped in some green led lights at about 7ft and before the 3rd rod got in the water, I hooked up with a pretty decent slab. Unbeknownst to be, that would end up being the only crappie for the evening. Had bait fish all around the boat from 5-15 feet. All we were catching were small catfish (7”) and one nice striped. Water temp was around 83-84 degrees and they were pulling water pretty hard until around 1:30AM

You sound like us on Wylie! We go and the bottom falls out and still fish right along.

Glad to see some are getting out and trying. If you keep going you will find them hungry at some point. I did Friday night on Wylie.
I had to hunt them down but I found some hungry and caught a limit. 3 over a lb. each. One was just shy of 2 lbs.
Anyway glad to see more posts from our Ga. Friends.
I hope to get to fish in Ga. At some point.

Thank a Veteran every chance you get.BigDawgg LIKED above post
In two trips I’ve caught one. Luckily I’ve caught other species and haven’t been skunked yet. LOL. I’m working out motor issues right now so I’ve stuck to night fishing in calmer water, but I’m limited to how far I can go with the trolling motor and batteries. I’m gonna take 2 or 3 weekends off and get this motor going real good and then see where I’m at
