Do crappie not bite crappie minnows in FEB and March? Just curious

Depends on your style of fishing
I like to longline, so I rarely (if ever) use minnows

I'd love to never use another minnow but just like the OP, we have always always always caught more fish tipping our jigs. We must be doing it wrong

Went to Granite Shoals this past friday(2-23) Fished in 6' of water and had water temps at 71.97 degs at 3:05 pm. Caught a variety of fish on minnow tipped jigs with 90% coming on the Black/Blue/Black 1/16 oz. Crappie, Largemouth and White Bass along with Channel Cats were biting. Got my first 16" slab of the year. Brought 15 home for the grease along with 2 channel cats. Released the bass so they can tangle and knot my lines up again another day!!!

Nice report. I fished a little further south and did ok. Kept 11 fish. Females had eggs but not matured yet.

If it works for you, I wouldn't change a thing
