Default LAKE OCONEE HALF DAY 11/3/17 (video)

The night before last I had "crappie insomnia". After laying awake most of the night I got up at 4:00 and started getting ready to go fishing. I knew I had to get to the lake early as the good bite has been from daylight until about 9:30. I was on the water just before 7:00 and had the TM in anchor mode. I caught my first fish at 7:06. The bite was very good the first two hours or so and I caught and released 15 fish by noon. The fish ranged in size from 11-13 inches. The water temperature was 68 when I started and 70 when I finished. I long line trolled double rigs on all 8 rods. I used a 3/32 round head jig on top and a 1/32 round head jig trailer tied about 3 feet apart. The blue ice curly tail was the best fish catcher for me. There were several other boats out there. I was surprised to see that many crappie fishermen together on a weekday this time of year. I saw Earl and Cuz together for the first time in a long time. I guess I wasn't the only one with "crappie insomnia". I apologize for some sloppy editing on the video but I hope you will enjoy it nevertheless. It was a long day.

Nice report and video. Do you catch more on front jig or the back jig?

Not sure but if I had to guess I would say the trailer jig.

I tried 2 jigs a couple days and I never caught one on the front jig. I’m going to try it again and see if I have any luck with it.
