i think they will mover some where else to get shade .
Do any of you have info on catch rates after they spray parts of a lake to kill it? I know they killed the grass in Eufaula several years back. That lake is just becoming a place to catch a trophy crappie again..
On Harding they have sprayed a few years. I saw a huge drop in shad populations.. but I'm only one guy. The crappie have been smaller too or II've lost some skills.. probably the latter.
They are spraying some areas on the Bama side here the next 2 days.. just wondering what your thoughts are on fishing after the treatments. Eating the fish?
Thank you.

retired and now i will always fish
Smitty, Lake Juliette was sprayed a few years ago and is just now coming back.
Many years ago they tried about everything to kill it in Lake Marion but to no avail until finally spraying it. Now biologists might come on here and tell ya something completely different but after the lake was sprayed you might as well stayed at home. I even seen catfish floating so IMO there was a BIG fish kill from the chemicals. Like I said...people might come on here and dispute what I said but from experience of fishing that lake numerous times each year (like every other two to three weekends throughout the spring and summer months) the catch rate went from good...to barely worth the gas to get there. After that I quit going and concentrated my efforts here at home as well as a few other lakes within an hour or so from my house.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Spraying is like a double-edge sword. Some of the places one catches fish for years gets over-taken by the weeds/grass and U just can't get to the fish. As it spreads, one knows action must be taken before other places get covered and effects the fishing. Years ago one of my favorite creeks in Talquin they sprayed to knocked-back the lillys and other weeds. It big-time altered the fishing in the upper end of this creek. It's just recently came-back to catching good fish again.
