    Default Freezing Fish

Came-up with this little idea to freeze fish. The problem always is when U lay the bags in the freeze, you always have one or two that will stickup out of the water and get freezer burnt. So, used little bungee cords and hung them on the ranks. I think I might be able to get a patent on this idea!

    My method...
I use quart ziploc bags...place however many fillets in it for a meal(for us its 10) fill it about 3/4 with water, partly seal and place under running water...squeeze air out slowly, once done lay flat on cookie sheet and freeze.

Stackable in the freezer, and no air pockets.

    What Dutch said.

My mother taught me to "burp " water/air out bags when sealing them.

We use vacuum bags for fish we want to keep for over a month. The trick is use a paper towel inside the bag to keep the moisture out of your vacuum machine. It will keep fish fresh for a long time.

    ^^^Another good method.

Only thing I do different is I layer my fillets on wax paper' place on a baking sheet, freeze overnight and then vacuum seal.

Yep - vacuum pack for me too. Till I started using one I did the water freeze method in old cardboard milk cartons.

Vacuum seal. They taste fresh-caught WAY longer than freezing in water. JMO...

There is one out there now that actually traps the water. I still use the paper towel. I like dutch's idea and will try if soon.
