    Default New GPS....

...Just received my new GPS (Garmin GPSMap 76s)...it's great (and I got a great price on ebay). My old one (Garmin 45) was stolen out of my truck on Dec 20. Now I know how out-dated that thing was...the dirty thief deserves it! I hope it navigates him off a cliff.

I think I need to go fishing to figure out all this new unit can do. One nice feature, it floats. With a small boat like mine, that could come in handy. I haven't lost many things overboard but I know it's a real possibility.

Let me know if anyone else is using one of these. How do you like it?

I bought a GPSMap60CS several months ago. I also bought the Garmin North American City Navigator street map program. Together... it's the neatest gadget I've purchased in several years. I use it for fishing, hunting and travel. I mark underwater structure when fishing deeper water so I can stay pretty much on top of it. I also use it on larger reservoirs to preplan fishing trips based on friends reports. The full street program is loaded on my business laptop. When traveling I prepick the addresses I be visiting, save them as way points and download them to the GPS. It takes me right to them turn by turn. I was in Chicago a few weeks ago and this saved me a bunch of time. Plus kept me from ending up on the wrong side of town. Been there....and done that. It's neat using it on an airplane too.

    Default Accessories for Garmin

You will enjoy that unit. I've had mine a couple of years and am still finding out good things about it. If you don't have it the Portable Friction Mount along with the adjustable automotive bracket works great to set the unit about anywhere. I troll with mine and enjoy the tracking feature to see where I've been and see roughly how fast I'm trolling.
