Way to go Hotwater. Looks like the big ones are starting to bite.Plan on getting out there a couple of times myself over the next few days.
I wasn't planning on fishing today as Kowboy was under the weather. However, I woke up at 4:30 a.m. and knew I wouldn't go back to sleep so I got up and readied the boat and headed for Oconee. I started fishing around 7:00 a.m. The water was 67.7 degrees and stained. I long lined 8 rods out of the back of the boat and tipped with minnows. The first fish I caught was the biggest weighing 2 lbs. Several of the others were nice and fat and ranged between 12-13 inches. I kept about four fish in the 10-11 inch range. I ran out of minnows at 1:30 p.m. and ended up with 15 good fish. The winds made fishing open water difficult but the bite was good the entire time. I spent most of the day tying on hooks. I am out of practice when it comes to long lining.

I did. I hunted most of the week before leaving for the trip to Montana. When I got back, after being gone for a week, I checked the trail cam and there were 46 photos on it. The pictures were of one spike and the rest were armadillos, coons, rabbits, foxes, possums and squirrels. The property I have to hunt is good up until about the 23rd of Oct. After that it's lonely. This year I never saw as much pre-rut activity as in years past. Weather????? Will check trail cam again today. Besides, when I'm not fishing I'm thinking about fishing. Dang crappie!
