If only that were true, most people stop fishing when the white crappie spawn which is why I would think they would stay strong on the hill.

I have fished the hill for 40 years on the little river side and only caught a few whites. I have caught a lot of whites on the savanah river side but not many in the last few years.

I have actually kept fairly detailed records of all my trips to the Hill since 2000, so I went back to see just how my numbers compared. As a general rule, for every 500 crappie I have caught, only about 10 have been white crappie. It is definitely a black crappie lake from my perspective. What few white's I catch tend to be in the spring months. I jig fish 80% of the time, 20% minnows, and generally only troll in the early spring months. I mostly fish brush piles and structure and cast or vertical jig.
