    Your bringing back memories with those rooster reds, fished the Canoochee years ago and caught some nice purple colored bull gills in the 9 inch range and several roosters in the 8 inch range. Still looking for a 1lb plus rooster, that is like a 3lb crappie. Something about fishing black waters the fish have a really nice color to them. Congrats Specklocker!

    Speclocker, I live in Savannah not too far from the canochee river, may I ask where you put in at? those are nice red breast, nothing like fishing in that black water .

    I caught them at Ft Stewart Bravo 6 canal (very shallow) while they were bedding believe it or not. I also caught some at Landing 3, Bravo 1. Sorry for the delayed response... work :>{
