    Default Navionics Premium

I broke down and recently bought me the Navionics premium gold chip for my HB 597. I have been in the garage for 2 hours trying figure this rascal out. My question is, Is there anyway I can pull up the lakes from house or do I have to be on the water to view? I have been here on this computer and out there in the boat until I am about ready to package it up and take it back to Gander. But I know it will be useful if I knew how to work it. Thanks guys for any help.

You can look at the lakes from your home on the GPS but if you are in the garage you probably are not getting a signal from the satellite. Once the unit locks on to a signal you can zoom out to find your lake and zoom in to view it. At one time I could go to the HB website, look at a lake on the site, add waypoints or info and download to an SD chip and transfer to the DF and also transfer any info from my DF to the map on the website. Apparently they have discontinued that feature because I can't do it anymore.
I do not believe there is any way to put the Navionics chip in your PC and read it, but you can go to the Navionics site and pull up maps of your lakes. You can't input data to the Navionics chip except to do upgrades to it as they are released by Navionics.
At least that is my understanding.

Here is a link to the web app. http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp

As said above it will not work in the garage, it has to have signal. Use the cursor to move to the lake you want then zoom in. Be sure you have south or east version. What lake are you looking for? What are you not seeing?

Yes sir I do have the south. Mostly fish talquin , Seminole, and chochtawhatchee river...But maybe im lost here with my Hummingbird. I cant find a place where it has the lake selection. I have operated a lake master and it had the lakes in my navigation screen. But this navionics is not coming up in that screen...I been to the navionics web app and it says for $99 dollars it will update it for me..??? Guys I know I am a Podunk country boy, but this thing is whooping me!! It is still raining here. So tomorrow I am going to pull the boat outside and try it one more time.... Thanks for the help

Once the charts load you should be able to scroll to any lake on the chart. You may need to zoom out to see where you are according to the map even with out Gps. I think the navionics south started out at Lanier the first time it's loaded.

LakeMaster has about 12 Ga lakes, which is great if you fish those 12...not so much if you don't. Navionics has just about all of Ga's lakes listed...with the larger impoundments being very detailed.

Make sure you download the free PC app and if have a smartphone the Navionic app for it is awesome. But it does cost $9.99 but it was worth it in my opinion. YMMV.
