    Default Clark Hill

I keep seeing postings about this lake and the trolling opportunities there in the fall.
I have a 14 foot boat, not all that wide at the beam, with a 20hp merc on it and I'm wondering if this is a safe rig to take out on a mammoth resrvoir like that.
I am scared to death of Lanier because of the huge boats and the wakes they create. I'd like to get out there and join you guys in some of this fun type fishing but I dont want to get sent to the bottom.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Douglas

Well Doug, my partner and i fished out of a 14ft boat on the lake for years before we up graded. There are a lot of people fishing in small boats on the lake, i think you biggest problem would be running out of gas All of us has to watch out for the speed boats this time of the year. But you wont see many this winter. We spend 90% of the time fishing creeks, that helps also.

that is good news. I always carry an extra tank of gasoline anyway and I used to (30 years ago) fish in soap creek a lot. Seems as I remember that being pretty tame all the way from old Soap Creek Lodge out to that first bridge toward the big water.
At any rate, I will be there and thank you for these words of an uplifting nature.
    Regards,
    Douglas

Hey Di,when you hunt those cold weather crappies there,do you target the coves or out in the main lake channels mostly?
