    Default War Eagle Conversion

Yesterday, I removed all the long lining Crappie stuff off the War Eagle and loaded all the Bream Stuff. My Crappie fishing is over until we start night fishing in June. Now it is time fer Crackers, Gills, and catfish as they all taste better than Crappie. Last Monday night we cooked Crappie, Bream, Grouper, and catfish fillets. Guess what was left when the chow hall closed. Yep, crappie. The river redbreast is the best fish to eat in fresh water.

Why do folks call Crappie, Croppie? I like specs myself.

I prefer to call them Sac-a-lait's, most time I get this look when salting a conversation with it. And FYI...bream is second to Sac-a-lait in taste, a close second but second none the less. And I will continue to fish for sac-a-laits all year as well as chase big bull 'gills and 'crackers, jugging for cats, and my new passion striper fishing. As well as trips to the Gulf to catch my favorite saltwater species.

I have to much water to fish and not enough time to fish it all.

Order of eating in our AO...

    1. Sac-a-lait or Grouper

    2.Bream or Speck trout

    3. Grilled or baked striper

    4. Catfish

I must admit that the the Redbreast is my favorite fish to eat followed by the "Speckled Perch", that one can catch in the Southern states, but threre is one better from the North. The walleye, MMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

If we had enough time to fish all the water we would be here a long long time.

Nothing like some good Lake Erie walleye Putin Bay ... Walleye are like shinny gold hard to get and hard to hold and they taste soo good they will make your tongue slap your brains out....when I retire I'm going to chase down some of them walleyes in Port Clinton, Vermillion, Lorain,Avon Lake,Cleveland or Ashtabula Ohio I might even go to Pymatuning ..why they are soo good it's even worth looking for them in the daytime with a flash light

I say we all get together and go to Blue Ridge or Chatuge and catch some walleye. I agree, walleye has got to be the best tasting freash water fish there. The best tasting salt water fish is the halibut then freash king salmon.

I am going up to Lake Seed in May just for Walleye. Lake seed also has good size Cuz to the Walleye, the Yellow Perch.

My favorite Walleye hole is the Cumberland River at Jamestown, Ky. This river is also a very good Trout river.

Most folks throw these fish back but they are very good to eat.
