Saturday morning I trolled for a while and picked up 5 before moving to tossing minnows. Came home with 12, the best in the pictures. I never really caught fish in the real shallow water. Mine came off trees out in 4' to 6' range. I did watch a couple sit on a tree for at least 4 hours and seemed to be catching them. Went back out Sunday afternoon and never trolled. Went straight to the bank with minnows. Caught 6 or 7 with 4 being very shallow and the darkest/blackest colors I recall ever catching. Guess they been sun bathing. I think the spots I hit Sunday were hit really hard the day before but still never really figured them out. I guess our Spring is about like our Winter was......non-existent. The water temp seems to have jumped right over the 65 to 70 range.
If anyone has a report about Rose creek or up the Little River I would be interested. I was thinking that might be a good choice to try.

One of my old fishing partners went to rose sat and said there wasn't much going on thats not to say they arent there somewhere and he just missed them. I know that I have been using a stronger trolling motor and going to fast went back to my old speeds and made all the difference in the world.

WE went Monday . Tried up Little River and couldn't find them any where . Went back under the bridge and caught about 30 beside christmas trees and out about another 5'. Fished minnows 3' down in 5 to 7' of water . Picked up a few more dinks in SW off the trees . Then we fished our way down to Illinois creek with no crappie ,but about 6 short bass and 1 channel cat. I thought my temp gauge was off because it was reading 70 to 75 degrees .
We started fishing around 9 and left around 5 . Dang good day if you ask me .
BTW Dugout had minnows for $17 a pound .
And would you believe my fishing partner had the gall to have a heart attack today ! I told him he could have held off for another month .
them dang heartaches always have bad timing. I work at st. joes so i see them daily some rough stuff.
St Joes is the best . I have 9 stents , all put in there . Dr .Hoff did most of them and Dr Chang did the last 2.
I know both of those docs well. Earl we have might have just meet at one time or another. I work down in radiology. Been doing night shift for a little over a year now. Before that it was 1st shift and surgery. Hopefully moving back to 1st in the next couple months. Crappie fishing and being in surgery are in my top list of relaxing things to be doing.
Coolest thing ever is being in a heart transplant surgery. That's one of the greatest experiences giving someone a new lease on life and just being there to watch it.
Makes me count my blessings and living to fish another day.
My girlfriends first crappie she got it last Saturday
one nice bass I got he had a broken tail so I take a picture of him
I saw this walking. Into wendys on the way to the lake its my nickname so I had to take a picture
I fished there yesterday but only caught one small crappie and a 10 inch spotted bass. Don't know the lake as well as I do Oconee but I went to try it out as I am 45 minutes from Allatoona. Problem I was having was finding decent shallow water. Seems like its 8 ft deep in a lot of places near the banks and 10ft from the banks it drops to 30ft. Just got to spend more time on the water!
