    Default Any recent Allatoona reports?

Any recent Allatoona reports. My work as been crazy lately so I haven't even seen the lake. Wondering if there's even water in it right. I called the generation number and they are pumping but that doesn't mean anything they are known for pumping out more water then coming in.

I've got a couple younger cousins I want to take out but they are wild I wont even start to troll probably lose 90% of the poles over board. So I guess slinging minnows it is. Would like to catch the bedding. But really don't want to drag my boat from jasper to.find out there is no water.

They did say water surface temp was 57degrees and these 60and 70 degree days and rain might warm it up soon

Has anyone been up stamp creek or knox bridge usually knox is one of the last to fill up. Pr any reports around the block house ramp.

I've not fished are the block house ramp much in the past what to try it.out this year. Since I've got a boat that can actuualy travel some distance and has a trolling motor.

Codyology - Lat time I was on the lake was the 18th a couple of weeks ago. Managed bout 10 and saw lots of folks fishing the Little River area flat out into the main channel. Wind was pretty rough so i didn't stay long. I did manage by personl best hybrid/striper 6lb 7oz on 6lb line 12' rod. It was lots of fun. I hope to try Sat after the storms move thru. I checked and the water level shows 833.39 which is 6.31' down from full so should be plenty of water. Hopefully some othes will have better reports.Name: IMG00188-20120218-1134.jpg

codyology, you should be able to put in anywhere on the lake now except Knox Bridge. It will be bone dry until the lake is full. If you pitch minnows to any shoreline cover it should be productive in the afternoon hours. I caught fish monday with the boat in 2 1/2 feet of water.

I went out Saturday about 11 and had a fight with the wind. (The wind won) The warmest water was 60 and it felt that the wind speed matched it. There may have been fish to catch if you could control the boat in the wind. Caught a handful but I couldn't keep the bait where it needed to be. I did troll out of sweetwater and turn right to hide from the wind and got into the Hybrids. Caught 6 of those between 3 and 5 lbs.

Crappie boats are stacked up in the north end of the lake. From Little River up to Fields Landing trolling. I talked to several who caught limits the last few days. Saw some throwing bobbers up to the bank. Early morning blue/black/chrt was best then later john deer green. Caught 37 brought home 20. Did catch my first Perch in Allatoona.

Those Allatoona perch are relentless. Biggest Ive got so far was about 9in. Caught one lastyear and about 10 min later caught the same one again had a weird black spot behind left gill. If they ever get the numbers up and get to a good size. They will be a nice fish to fight with. They were slamming crickets up near knox bridge. For every 3 crappie I was catching 1. But its been random.

Getting the boat together now and heading down. Hopefully the wind wont be as bad as it is up here in jasper. Ill report later what's going on

I'm going sat and Sunday. I have a buddy going today i'll see whats going on. But he said real shallow Thursday. Had a mixture of males and females. Probably going to put in at little river and run up river to the bridge and work my way back down. Since my fishfinder went out last trip I want know any depths so I can comment on
that. Girlfriend is going out too for her first crappie trip, she's a heck of a trout fisherman so no first time learner hopefully can load the boat. Told her she don't know what she's been missing. Get in a swarm of them and you can't keep your line in the water fast enough.
