The fishing should be good at any kind of wood on the bank with corks and minnows. A lot of limits are being caught long line jigs in shallow water 3-6' with fish moving in and out of the spawn.

Diehard - Glad to hear your back on the water. I'll be out there hopefully. If they are that shallow I may have to try trolling the way Thankfull showed me last year.

Hey guys we caught fish on the bank yesterday from 8 am until 10:30 am on jigs. So rwinds they are that shallow. I don't know if color made that much difference but we caught most of our fish on acid rain but that because we fished it the most of the time.
Now dihard I know that you have been dry docked for some time but you don't have to get em all tomarrow there well be some good days to come.
    good luck guys.

My boy and I got out late this evening...first time this season...

Put the boat in at 6:15 PM, water temp was 70.5! Didn't even start the motor...Trolled from Fields Landing into Abercrombie. Caught 3 bass before 6:23 PM...In all....Caught 12 bass, 10 crappie, 1 hybrid, 1 catfish and a carp. All in about 2 hours. Saw a lot of action on the banks...

I was told I was a little late for trolling but my son and I had a blast! Hope to get back out Sunday!

I went today about 3the still haven't made it home yet on my way now. A heck of set of events happened today. Ill fill that story in tomorrow. Might be going out again tomorrow depends on how much of the boat is left really. What a crazy day. On a note my girlfriend got her first crappie today.

I fish on Weiss, which is a little different than fishing on Allatoona (water is generally shallower and more stained), but I troll from Jan /Feb right through the spawn. I troll with jigs under a float, and pull them right across shallow stump flats in 2-4 ft of water when they are spawning. I usually catch a lot of good fish that way.

Well I finally made it home after 2 crazy days of fishing. My girlfriend got a nice sized one for her first day out crappie fishing. But everything thing went down hill from there.

First we get everything ready and headed out sat. Went by the texaco right near the little river ramp. The one on the left beside the storage place. Well I filled up the boat with gas which was basically mostly water come to find out. My friend filled up his little 4stroke which normally purrs like a kitten and it had all kinds of problems too on sat.

So I don't recommend that Texaco, I wont stop there again. Which sucks I had just got my motor running right and idling perfect.

So I ran it up towards fields landing to hit a couple coves barely making it. Got there and the trolling motor went out. Neg wire connection came apart inside the connector under the bow. So we started back down to the ramp. After I puddled the boat around a good while to get into some coves. Caught some bass. So tried the motor again this was before we figured out the water problem. Boat died near the channel and then a big ski/barge boat came and running us over. Drunk teenagers. Which pushed us over on the sand bars got the boat started and dry docked it into the sand. Forget to say my depth finder died too sat. Guess when the wave hit us it pushed us into the sand bar broke the transducer all too pieces.

So we sent there dry docked caught some small bass and a gar that was chasing the small ducks around. I guess those were ducks the black birds sitting in the middle of the channel sat. There had to be a couple hundred of them.

So after some towing from a half working motor we got back to the dock.

So after working on it sat nite I tried it out again today no such luck it ran like a 2 legged dog and died so we trolled from the ramp of stamp creek all the way up to the bend that takes a hard right towards the stamp creek campground. Got into alot of bass and couple nice sized crappie. Can't forget the turtle my friend caught on a minnow on a float.

Overall had a blast actually learned alot about stamp creek while trolling. Saw 3 deer and a turkey. Found a fake deer head up at the cove that has the very small waterfall.

By the way can someone get me the Texaco phone number cause while out on the lake today I tried calling the number that was listed and it was the wrong number. I guess it was for the best cause the words that would have been super unchristian. The way I was feeling today.

Regardless of whatever happens out on the water. A day on the water is always better then a day at work.

Fish are in full spawn mode. Most are on any shallow wood or brush 1-2'. Saturday took all day but got 8 keepers and went sunday got 3 by 11:00 all caught on floats and minnows 2' depth. Early morning bite best on Jigs.
