    Default Very Bad Boat Wreck On Lake Blackshear


    I think this happened Saturday night here on Lake Blackshear. Five people that left the Bar&Grill at the Vet Park in a deck boat hit the Hwy 280 railroad tresstle. The person driving the boat was 65yrs old and there was one in the boat that was 17yrs old. The way the report reads there was severe injuries but they don't think any of them is life threatning at this point. People what is it gonna take to prove to you that booze and driving does NOT mix?

    Well, the laws should be in place to take care of that guy driving the deck boat. I'm just glad you didnt report any head on collisions with other boats and people dying.

    WOW, thats not good! The tressle can be hard to negoiate, espesicially drunk and with a bigger boat at night , I'll be praying for them.

    Does anyone know for sure the driver was drinking? My wife and I eat dinner at a bar and grill in Gray and never drink. Just asking! Terrible accident either way.

    The fire-rescue person that was first on scene knows this man and said he smelled the booze but I will check with the local law and see if it is fact.

    Hey Earl, I sure understand where you are coming from my friend. I myself have been to this Bar&Grill on the lake and also never had any booze but did enjoy myself. I am waiting on a call from the DNR officer that was at the scene to let me know the official record of what happened. I did talk to the local sherrifs office and was told that 2 of the people that were on the boat is still in the hospital. As soon as I hear from DNR I will post.
