CATCH FILLET
We caught a nice mess of crappie weekend before last at Jackson, up near where the South River comes in. Once I finish building "Das Boot" I plan on fishing there more (when I'm not on Varner!)
thanks for the info catch fillet and gunslinger...i went out with a couple buddies two weekends ago shooting docks we came home with 12...ive never been ther before and hope to go back it a pretty lake and hope to have some more luck next time
What's the best ramps to use there? Never been but have wanted to for a long time. Map shows distance for me is similar to other lakes I fish. Have heard the boat traffic gets rough on the weekends but so does most lakes. I know there has got to some nice fish to be caught there and have heard some folks talk about it in the past. I would be coming from the Macon direction to Jackson. Any good bait stores near any of the ramps? Got to be some folks on here that fish it. Hope they post up some info. Don't want fishing locations just logistics.

I been thinking about going to Jackson. me and my dad use to fish it alot a few years back. We use to catch alot of crappie and big'oe bream. We were fishing one time and pulled way back in a cove with a log across it and caught some of the biggest bream ever. We used up all our bait and had to leave and they were still biting. Good luck to everyone.
A crappie day fishin beats working any day!!
