Thanks for the report Kevin, Big Ed must have told you where to go and what color to use!
Got to sinclair about 12 yesterday. water was muddy of course. but the bite wasn't as bad as expected. picked up some really nice fish(11). the 2 biggest were 12 inches long and super fat with eggs. the Roe was still firm but was a bit red also. with some luck and good weather for Feb i think we will have an early spawn. The rain and mud is only slowing us fishermen and women down, not the fish. water yesterday at mid day was 53.5 and the fish were in 17 fow. hope this helps. And this is no joke it was acid rain in rooty creek:D

Sounds like we might see a fish or two at the tourney Sat. Thanks for the report.
crappiesnack..............my thoughts exactly. Ed always says "Bubble Gum and Acid Rain in Rooty Creek" no matter what time of year that you ask him!! LOL!!

We went yesterday also. Everwhere we went the water was a good color except up the Little River. We did not go up Rooty Creek. We fished Church Cove, a no name cove (I am not being vague, I just don't have a name for this one) & the warm water cove (Beverdam I believe?). We had a good day with 45 brought home. We threw back quite a few very small crappie. Most of ours were in shallow water 5 to 15 ft. Natural colors seem to do well. The water temp and the air temp was good. The Chili was good too although my partner might not agree. It all depends on the wind direction. Fine day to be fishing.
LOL Papa Dawg!
