WhiteHare here. Have been trying to get out ahead of this front moving in but the wind isn't cooperating. Soooo instead I've resigned to do some of the Spring "Honey-do" list.
Hope to spend some time on here observing and learning.
Hi everybody signed up a couple days ago. Really like the site. I just did the 2 yr subscription I've already saved more than the cost from reading the forums. Lots of good stuff and good people.

Hello everyone, 53yr old Kart racer that has choosen a less physically demanding sport. Last Fall I bought a very nice 13ft 1968 fiberglass boat that is set up nicely and have went Crappie fishing about every weekend since mid March here in SW Ohio, Until last weekend Ive fished the same 650 acre lake. With Spring coming to a end and the fish going deeper Im trying to learn more skills. A couple years ago I was in eastern Ky for a race and decided to do some trout fishing while I was there, and that has got my fishing juices flowing once again!
Hi y'all,
Been fishing off and on since I was a young 'un...I'm now 50 years old. But it's been mostly off the last 15 years or so. One thing I never could understand before...and maybe one of you could enlighten me. Why is crappie fishing in particular such a draw? Why not bream fishing? And what's the difference between crappie and any other sun fish? Am I missing something? I've caught many bream in my life, but only because that's what was biting. I was basically fishing for whatever would bite my hook. I know why they have bass boats, since that seems to be the iconic fish for the sportsman...but crappie boats? I've never fished from a boat, since we could never afford one, but looking at the design of the crappie boats vs the bass boats, I can't see what people see in the bass varieties. Crappie boats seem to be the best design for the fisherman, or maybe that's the fisherman that's not in a hurry (which is the only kind of fishing I could imagine...the unhurried kind).
Anyway, just rambling along. Howdy to all y'all.
welcome 53yr old newbie myself, Crappie there are plenty in SW Ohio so we fish them! Bass dont grow that big this far North that I know of? boats heck I didnt know there were Crappie boats but I bought a nice old fiberglass boat for under $1000 from a crappie fisherman last Fall and use it about every weekend, dont need a big motor to make it back to the weigh in quickly or out to the best cove quickly, I just put around normally just run the tolling motor and slay Crappie, and love it.
