This is also the place for you new guys to ask any questions that you may have about how the site works etc. Don't be afraid to ask....the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Just start a new thread in this forum and ask your question. We will try our best to answer any questions that you may have....how to post pictures, how this and that works, etc. Hope you enjoy the site.

Hi Everyone, I'm Jerry O'Connor (jeretired), originally from the Detroit area (Lake St Clair, Huron, Erie, etc...) where crappies are plentiful, and now live in Washington State...not very good for slabs, unfortunately. Now that I'm retired, I'm looking for productive crappie lakes in the Olympia area. I'm eager to participate in the forums and tap into the expertise of other members. As I discover new secrets here, I'll gladly share the same with other "newbies" as they join. Providing pics and all, I'm eager to participate.......

    Thanks, jeretired

First let me say hey to all of you, I'm really enjoying searching and reading the forum threads, I'm getting lots of info from them and will soon feel better about getting into the mix. but I am a newbie, and have tried a few times since signing up to change my member name/screen name. I have lost my password a time or two and requested and changed it, and I now know that when I find a good avatar I will be able to set it up but would someone please direct me to an instruction on how to change ones screen name or what we used to call a handle? Thanks in advance. Wannabe speckslayer57

First day on this website and wow! Overwhelmed with the wealth of information I've gained. Retired and just now getting a chance to fish inland lakes. Started fly tying and looking for any help and information I can get on fishing for crappie and pan fish. What rods, line etc. to use is all new. Trying to learn what to use what color etc. From the pictures I've seen I probably should quit now as it looks like you guys have already caught all the fish. Use to catching 4 or so trout in a day. Looking forward to bugging some of you for information that will help and will share what I can with anyone else. pecoskid

Thank you for having me. I will be new to Crappies, I have never fished for them before but I'm excited to try. I am from Putnam, Connecticut and noticed there is no State page. Can we fix that?
