I believe this is my first post. I'm sort of a newbie at crappie-a few springs and my first good fall, 2011. My agenda is to leave my native Pa. for a trip, probably down south for a week or so.
Hello all from Moore Oklahoma. Great board and seems like great people. Not new to crappie fishing but new to some of the methods on here, very interesting. I'm a die hard jig fisherman and haven't fished much with minnows or other artificials for crappie. Part of my youth was spent at my parents lake resort in Grove on Grand Lake. We had a heated fishing dock and a huge courtesy dock filled with structure and great crappie fishing. I "learned" to fish from a couple of elderly gentleman that made the daily trip from across the cove to fish our place, some great memories, thanks Les and Homer. Anyway, I love to river Catfish too but crappie fishing is my first love. I just need a boat now. Look forward to learning from all of the advice on here and putting some of it to use.

Excited to be here and looking forward to learn and meet new friends. I wwas fishing before I could walk and its one of my biggest motorvators in life. Of course my family is number one. I've always considered catfish as my prime fish to target, taking some really nice ones but since moving down south from michigan I've found myself addicted to the slabs. Looking forward to trying out the new spider rigging my wife and sons help me install.
Hello all, I am from South Louisiana and really enjoy crappie fishing. Just wanted to introduce myself, and learn a few things on here.
hello from NJ... got hooked on crappie fishing a few month's ago. looking foward to posting pic's and learning new method's to catching the slab's!
Hello slabbers! I just bought a home in Dry creek, La near longville where i grew up. Bundicks lake is right up the road from me and i was wondering if theres any crappie fisherman here that fish bundicks. I dont have a boat anymore but im working on getting a kayak. I hope to hear from someone soon.
Tight line,
Ben
I've been lurking here for a few months on and off and have already learned alot from what I've read here. As of today, I'm officially logged in. Not new to fishing, but I don't have alot of crappie fishing experience or experience with the use of sonar.
I got a "new to me" boat about a year ago with a used sonar unit (Lowrance X86) and have spent several days with my boys (6 and 9yrs old) and a few by myself out fishing. I live in southern Illinois and fish Crab Orchard Lake, Devil's Kitchen Lake, and Littly Grassy lake most of the time. I need to get up to Rend Lake once I get a better handle on the sonar. Really trying to play with and learn my sonar this spring- it's going to be a process but I'll get there.
Looking forward to many an hour on this site and many more hours spent on the water.
