    Default Lake okeechobee 1/20

Went out on the north end and jigged fished the kings bar area. Caught 21 and 18 were keepers. Most were in a pink head and green body jig. Mainly fishing under hyacinth.

Went back the following Monday (1/24) after the big cold front and only caught about 10 fish total with 2 people. 5 keepers. Very frustrating considering I had a good day a few days before. Also they were spraying the area and the hyacinths look to be dying already.

Tried fishing some Kissimmee grass and bulrush/reeds, but no luck.

guess I need to find new areas away from the spraying.

anyone target reeds or bulrush more than hyacinth?

Will report back when I go next!

still learning the fishery. I think I’m hooked!

We were there on 1/19 fished the reeds and what grass we could find, we used jigs (cocaine) and Andy's grass shrimp. We also used minnows fished for 4 hours had 46. We caught a bunch reof catfish too and gar. We fished the outer side of kings bar area. With them killing all the habitat it is going to put a hurt on the fishing.

way bluegabe fishes is how I do in brush in MO but I do it wading. pull tip up to end of long rod and find a small opening and let a few inches of line down with small jig and Kaboom!

I'm addicted to watching his and Deermeatfordinners channel along with Kelly's. Gives you something to do on a winters day. Think I am an arrington now.

The small lake i fish most has lots of grass everywhere around the shoreline. And it has become a problem due to very large sections of it breaking off and floating around, and even blocking the area you launch. About a month of so back i came back to the launch and the whole area was chocked off.
About 2 weeks ago they sprayed very heavily every where, and now every thing is brown.
Im wondering how that might affect the spawn, which usually starts about now.
