    Default Lake rousseau

Has anyone fished here. I was looking at a map and found this lake. Bass online said it’s full of freshwater fish and connected to salt water might try it on my trip down next week

It's loaded with large mouth and very good Shellcrackers. Use extreme caution when navigating this lake, probably the stumpiest lake in Florida.

After Hurricane Irma in mid-September, Rousseau experienced a major fish kill. Biologists attribute this kill to oxygen depletion caused by the rain amount and Irma's overall influence. I haven't personally fished there since last Spring. Exceptionally sized largemouth(You tube Lake Rousseau), nice shellcrackers, bluegills and crappies used to be dependable, don't know about the aftermath. As mentioned, this lake, although channel marked, has an extreme hazard level.
