Sounds like a good day to me.
Last night my wife walked into the room and said " If you want to go fishing, tomorrow will be the best day as far as weather is concerned!" Oh how I love that women !!!
I got up and headed to the lake. There were a few boats out in the middle but I didn't see any action. But I was here to play with the new fish finder some more. I headed out to one of my "hot spots "to see what it looked like on side imaging. Of course, once I got there I had to put the rods out. I trolled around trying to understand what I was seeing and hoping to see the rods react to it. Nope, no luck with the rods. But the wind picked up and was blowing better than I expected. It blew me out of the area I wanted to be in. Oh well, time to move so that the wind would work for me. I ran to the other side of the lake to another "hot spot". I trolled around with the rods out. The rods started to bend but I didn't see the fish on the screen. They were small, so back they went. I made a wide sweep and put a keeper in the box. AND I started to see some interesting things on the screen too. Then the wind changed. So I did too. Back to the other side of the lake.
After boating around some I thought it might prove interesting to try closer to shore. By this time most of the other boat had left the lake. I moved in towards shore, turned and started to run the shore line back to the ramp. It wasn't long when a rod goes off and the second keeper goes into the box. Then a third joins them. There's dinner ! Then nothing. I head in.
I caught 6 fish, kept 3 and mapped and marked two areas. I think I had a good day.
A day on the water is a good day.
