    Default rhodan help/question

I'm considering purchasing a Rhodan trolling motor and have concerns not having a foot controlled pedal and just using the fob for controlling the boat along a stretch of shore/weed beds or through stumps/trees. All my fishing is fresh water lakes.
What is your experiences with this type of usage with just a fob and no foot pedal?
The plus along with the gps is the shaft will not spin more than 360 degrees damaging your cables along the shaft.
I'm accustomed to the foot pedal and realize a learning period would be needed for using just the fob.
Just looking for experiences/recommendations from current/prior Rhodan owners.
    Thank you for you time.

Wow, I just checked out there website, see they're in our backyard, Sarasota, Fl. they've got quite a price point, but I guess all the GPS anchor type electric motors do, can't speak of there quality, but owning a trolling motor with a Fob only...keep extra batteries on hand & make sure you affix a lanyard to the Fob....

I have owned the minkota GPS trolling motor and loved it but they do have their drawbacks especially fishing for crappie in thick cover but great when spider rigging or long lining. The minkota spot lock was okay but not as good as the Rhodan. My buddy has a rhodan and it is much quieter and a little better built than the minkota. The minkota used to have small remotes that mountedto your fishing pole and they were great. The fobs are a pain especially in the river or right areas but it is all preference. I was able to program GPStracks on my minkota which was a great feature. Find someone with this type and give it a try. I have three kids so it is nice being able to drive from anywhere. My buddy is getting rid of his boat and selling the rhodan I think for 900. It has not been used much. Let me know if your interested and I will see if he still has it.

I have the Minn Kota. The FOB is good but there are times I like the hand control. The foot control would be good if you can lock it on for trolling or spider rigging. If you fall off the boat it keeps going with the fob so wear your PFD if alone or other person can't turn off the motor.
    Wear your PFD!!!!!

Almost forgot the minkota makes a foot control for their GPS models. I had it and it works pretty good.
