    Default Crappie hernando area


    Anyone know a place that i can catch them from land or kayak about a hour from hernando county? Catching a crappie has made it onto my bucket list and i need to catch one

    You can try these lakes. Also Lake Roseau is not far.

    intimidating to try and find fish up there..big lakes lol...i tried hunters lake in spring hill last week. no crappie but i have no problem catching bass

    I don't remember fishing Hunters Lake. My brother used to wade Hunters Lake 40 years ago. He caught some real hogs there. Good bass lake for sure.

    Try the Withlacoochie River, or Silver lake on the river.

    I've got my jon boat up and running. Ive struck out on hunters lake again. has anyone fished rousseau, floral city, withlachoochee river, Silver lake, bystre, middle lake or lake tarpon lately? plan on hitting one of these lakes up in next couple days

    I've not been up that way in awhile, can't help.

    I'd imagine the withlacoochie is low, low, low based on how dry it is here in the Green Swamp. Watch out for submerged rocks and such. My boat has been welded a few times because of that river lol.

    Then again, I run a long tail, so I don't tend to worry too much about where I'm going haha.
