Default That was a great day on the lake

My friend asked me to take his oldest son fishing as he has always wanted to fish but my friend is not the outdoor type. Of course I agreed and Off to Toho we went this morning. Was a slowish day, ended up with 14 slabs, 2 gills and several bass. The joy of taking a kid fishing was all but forgotten by me since my kids are grown. The smile on his face with his first fish was priceless!

The last fish caught today was a 4 pound bass, and I was blessed to get it in the boat.

Females were in open water, full of roe. Mixed in with males. Long lining as always, Blue with white tail seemed to be the go to color.

Excellent pictures guys, That is what it's all about. I went today myself, alone in the canoe again, and found it slow also. Where I kept 8 last week up to 13", this week I struggled with the wind and slow conditions to catch 8 total with only one of keeper size. Good enough to make me happy, but no one to share the smile with like you folks. I see a trip with the Granddaughter coming soon. It's about more than just the fish. Good Job Fella's!!

Nothing like taking a kid out to fish or hunt. have taken a friend of mine's son out last two years turkey hunting, had lots of turkeys around us but he hasn't killed yet but had a blast. last year the crappie were spawning while he was with me and while his dad was too stubborn to follow my lead and catch fish after fish, his son listened to me exactly and caught a limit of big crappie. now if I just knew how to add a pic here I would show you his face!
