Be careful at Medard Park. The Buzzards will eat your car and use it for a outhouse.
    Wear your PFD!!!!!

Medard was drained about 6 yrs ago at this time to repair the earthern dam = hundred of fish were taken out and moved to
    other lakes in area.
When lake refilled after dam work was completed - several other pits with drainage tubes released water and fish back
into lake - i have heard there are some monster fish in lake, however, they have a problem with the buzzards there.
Make sure you cover windsheild wipers and rubber molding around windshield - as they will eat molding

Freshwater i know fairly well - depending on what you want to do.
Medard Park is probably best place around to fish from bank
Dover Park off 92 is good walk around little park- has big spec's in it - one hole 21ft deep.
Itenoroc in Lakeland has a couple pits that you can bank fish from

How about using one of those car covers? Is there something I can use to scare off the buzzards?

Complain to FWC as many have done in past -They are a protected bird in Florida (have no idea why)
but you have to complain through Lakeland FWC office -not at Medard - (they are just paid stooges)

The couple times I fished it last fall, the buzzards were there but did not seem to be causing any issues. It's a pretty big parking lot too.
