Ramp vandalism raises it's ugly head from time to time. Glad it wasn't any worse for Dad.
Anyone had their tires slashed recently at Hall Landing or any other boat ramp at Lake Talquin?
My ole man went to Hall Landing this past wednesday. His left rear tire completely blew out on I10 on the way home. Changed the tire and didn't think much of it, but it was a really strange blowout. When he got home he looked more closely at it and you could see where there was a slice in the outer tread of the tire which caused a huge chunk of the tread to get ripped off and then the blow out. On a hunch, he went and looked at the right rear tire that was still on the truck.....well, he found a box cutter blade wedged in the outer tread of that tire....same exact spot where there was a slice on the other tire that blew. Also, when he took that tire into get a new one, they found a blade inside of the tire.
Trying to figure out if this was malicious or not. Leon County Sheriff didn't have any other reports. I've been fishin at Lake Talquin for almost 20 years and never had any problems. It's certainly possible that he could have run over a cartridge of blades, but how would it have gotten in the tires on both sides?....and nothing in the front tires? I would hate to think that someone did this....could have killed someone.
