Default Good day on the water.

Any day on the water is a good day, but today was extra special. I was able to fish with good friends.

Friends from IL cam down, and we had a geezer Monday with Shu, Flycaster and Speckanator (aka Baconator) on Griffin.

    It was a beautiful morning.

We raced out to see what shu was catching in the pads.

    William felt the thump.

Sophia caught one. Well kinda. We used a Speckanator supplied decoy fish to let Sophia feel what these fighters are like.

But Sophia did catch one of her own, a nice 11 incher even before I could get the trolling motor out. But we decided we were done at that point cause the wind really started to kick up.

We seen Flycaster fly by. We seen the Shumeister fishing outside of the pads. Actually mooched a few minners from him. Also seen the cigar king, aka Speckanator, aka Baconator. Great day with friends.

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Always good to fish with geezers, Saturday the counter said 29 fish, Specklocker was fishing in Florida Crappie Clubs Lake Griffin tournament after the drive from Georgia, always nice to meet Crappie.com guys. Had 10 to clean in the box(just right) don't want to clean any more than that. Today stopped counting and when I got home there were 9 in the box used 1/4 # of minnows. Two days of catching specks that are to dream of, all the ones to clean were ready to spawn and over 10.25 inches. Wife says "Don't bring anymore home" so it's fun fishing for a while now.--Got pics from both days will add later.--shu

Sorry I couldn't make it. Sprained my ankle over the weekend. Gonna try to hobble out Thursday and Friday.

I got to Herlong Park early, talked to Mike and Shu. Launched and started to troll along souoth side. Two poles out and one bite. Was not expecting it, and lost it.
Should have stayed along south shore, but decided to try elsewhere, bad idea. had a crappie day.
Got back to the ramp and it was FULL of those that were prefishing for the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern Open, which gets underway on the Harris Chain on Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Wind go to the point that it was driving me into the weeds, time to call it a day.
