Default Wifey don't slow down...Swim with Manatee

I can't keep up. Wifey has me hopping all the time, if it's not Scuba in the Keys, or Scalloping, or running, it's something else. This time she's got me snorkeling with the Manatee at Crystal River. Stuff I'd probably never do on my own. Stuff I think is just for the tourists. But well, I guess we are tourists, and I have to say, it was an awesome trip. It was real windy today, and it was supposed to rain. Those facts seemed to have scared off all the other tourists, so we ended up going it alone, just the guide, and the two of us. It was great. Well, it was great after we found Manatee in clear water. At first, in the choppy waters, we seen them from the surface, but in the water we could only see them when they were like a foot from our face. That was not good as you really don't want to be looking at an animal that big from only a foot away.

But later the guide found a channel where we seen a mom and baby. They were great. They could care less that we were there. In fact when we did get out of the water they followed us to the ladder. Seriously, I think these gentle giants really liked us.

If you listen hard you can hear him eating.

In the 70's, before Blue Springs was state owned, you could do that there. Jacques Cousteau did a show there. Looks like you two had a very good day, even for tourists.

I had one follow me around Pine Island Sound for about an hour. He could not figure out what the longtail on my boat was, was obsessed with it.

    It's a Fuji FinePix XP80

I tried a GoPro and did not like it at all. I love the Fuji.

When you become a native they will be "sea cows".
They are a curious sort, for sure.
