    Default Elite 7 HDI Fine Tuning help needed


    Trying to dial in my lowrance elite 7 hdi. i've tried to read all the posts and now i have a couple of questions. Is there anybody out there who knows alot about this unit? Customer service at lowrance was kinda helpful but there are some things like the slow chart refresh rate that he said i just have to live with. PM me if you can help. THANKS!!!!

    slow chart refresh rate? bah Hum bug. call back and get a different tech. I don't think the guy knew what he was talking about. demand they replace it.

    Download the latest software upgrade from Lowrance if your unit does not have the latest already, this can make a huge difference in refresh time, if a Bass Pro is near you they will do it for free even if you did not purchase it from them. You can get it off the Lowrance website. If still not satisfied they will swap out for a HDS unit for a reasonable price. Beware of Gen2 models that is straight touchscreen, if that screen malfunctions and it is out of warranty or with any Lowrance units, you just bought a $1000-$2000 disposable unit, in other words you ate it. At least with an Elite 7 HDI you would only be out 400-500 if it bit the dust providing the download fixes the refresh rate, it did for me. Note: LOWRANCE does not repair them! Buyer BEWARE!!!!!

    thank you!! my version is 4.1.11 and i noticed an upgrade on the lowrance website version 4.1.13 . is that a newer version? haven't been able to call customer service because i'm working during their bus. hrs. I will download and install that update this weekend.
