    Default Navarre florida area

My mom and step dad are moving to florida at the end of this month around Navarre. Is their any good crappie fishing close? Thanks for any info. Might try to go see them in the spring and would like to go fishing while there.

Not sure on crappie or any freshwater close by, but inshore saltwater abounds as well as surf and pier fishing. I am sure someone in that area will be along to give some local insight.

Lake Seminole or Talquin is about the closest I know of. Probably bout 1.5 hrs to Seminole & bout 2 hrs from talquin. These are the closest I know of to Navarre. This is just a bad section of Florida for crappie fishing.

Johndeer Years ago crappie in perdedo river. I grew up in Pcola and remember some talk about crappie there. After the storms is it still a maybe? MK ask around about east river just above Navarre that heads up from the east in Eglin AFB. You should be able to get maps on fishable waters on EAFB Reservation which will keep you out of restricted areas. Also do some research on Merrit mill pond (large shell crackers) and surrounding water. Yellow river might be another maybe. A lot of fishable stuff east/northeast of Navarre with out having to go on much of a safari. Some has to hold crappie. I'm new to crappie fishing and wished I had paid attention to crappie in that area years ago. Good luck with it.

You aren't real far from Ebro. Lakes and sloughs all along the river that have some big crappie. The choctawhatchee river has plenty of places in the panhandle to fish. May be a little tough finding a brush pile if your not familiar with the area. But rest assured, plenty of good fishing spots.

I have vacationed down that way a lot. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to target the saltwater fish. They pull so hard man its fun. Lot of them good to eat too.

I forgot about some of the small rivers n that area. The mill pond is toast!!! Been dead ever since the state sprayed the hydrilla several years ago. They killed all the apple snails that the crackers ate. It's been 10 years plus ago and still no snails or crackers.

Choctawhatchee River, Pate Pond, Talquin, Seminole, and Gantt Lake in Alabama are the only places I've had any luck in the 3 years I've lived up here.
