    A thick fog welcomed Crappie.com anglers to a little friendly crappie fishing competition Saturday, January 16 on Crescent Lake. The plans were simple. Meet up at Sunrise Boat Ramp about 6:30 a.m., launch, return about 1:30 and see who the best crappie anglers of the day are. When the fog lifted a relatively cool and calm day provided almost perfect crappie fishing weather.




    This year’s event carried the name Crappie-Pa-Looza. Most of the competitors were Crappie.com forum members with names like, Speckanator, TnT, Slab (Crappie.com owner), Rooster Tail, FlyCaster, RoadRunnerRon, Pontiac Russ, Quick Mike, Skeetbum, SlowRide Stu, Anchor man, Specktacklure, Speck Detector and Billbob. Let’s face it; with names like those, and more, it is bound to be a fun event.
