    Hi,

Anyone have Info on this lake as far as Crappie fishing goes? Not asking for locations, just whether it is worth taking the drive??

    Thanks,

I tried longlining it twice with no luck, but that was a couple years ago and probably not the right time of year. Nice lake though and good boat ramp. Does have a sunken sailboat on the west shore line that I did get a good side scan image of.

    Hi Pescador,
I was raised in Auburndale. Back years ago Julianna was a good solid lake for specs, gils, crackers and bass. I have not fished it in 30 yrs. (basically because i have not fished in 30 yrs) It would be as good of a try as any. Give Fish Haven Lodge a call. They might have some info...they also have a Boat ramp.
There are actually 3 lakes within a mile of each other there that have been good lakes. lake Mattie you used to be able to go thru a canal form Julianna to Mattie, not sure u still can.
Also lake Agnes in polk city. You can see it from I-4 just before you get off at 559 heading to Julianna. We used to drift Agnes for specs using nothing other than a cane pole, split shot and a minnow.
    Good luck exploring.

Yes sir Mr Pescador. Fished Lake Alfred Sunday before last. had Good luck on Gils and bass. But its a hard lake to fish. Fish are back up in the the thick stuff (as in tripping breaker on trolling motor, having to unwind weeds off 25 hp tohatsu etc.) There was an air boat fishing the cove we were in but he didnt even try to get as far back in as we did. as a side note...maybe 15-20 yrs ago myself and a couple friend caught hundreds of specs from the cove we were fishing.
Fished Arbuckle/Reedy last Sunday. See my Arbuckle debacle thread. Going back to Arbuckle this Sunday morn. Its a solid hour from south Lakeland...a little more form north lakeland. You are welcome to tag along if u wish. My boat is full but we would be happy to help you launch/take out and caravan with you.
I may indeed Try Lakes Agnes and tenessee in upcoming weeks. I remember (again decades ago) we had a bad freeze. Thousands of citrus trees were pushed up and dropped into these 2 lakes via helicopter.
