The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

I guess we need some discussion on that. Nothing planned right now. Seems we lost interest when we changed some lakes around last season and then we had a small turnout for the classic in April. Maybe do away with the competition part of it? Maybe not have the points race? Just a fish fry in Fall and in the Spring? We have enough money to cover all expenses if we have a couple of slabfests (cooking) each year. No need to request any donations etc. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, I hope you will still have them. Your group does a great job at hosting the slab fests, and I know its a lot of work for some of you but it would be ashamed if you stop them. If people don't like the computation part do away with it or keep it open for those who like some computation, if that makes sense. I'm an outsider being from VA and I really like the Florida group, Just my two cents worth.

One good thing about Talquin is everyone can eat fish friday night, fish Saturday, and attend hot dog lunch Saturday after the weigh-in for just a donation to win a prize. We have been fortunate in the past to have enough funds left after expenses to pay 5 places in the tournament. Our focus is on meeting members, having a Crappie time, and enjoying the fellowship........and that's it. We welcome everyone to come enjoy the fellowship.

One of the best weeks of the year. Get to see old friends and make new ones. Couldn't get any better.

Always have had a good time at Talquin, Have had to cancel three fishing trips in a row so maybe the fourth is a charm. So hope to get this one done.--shu
