Call Whippoorwill marina. It has lodging and is the best restaurant in the area. Keep watching CDC and PM me before you come.
They didn't fight at all, just pulled real hard trying to get aloose.

Watch out for the little "cabins" at whippoorwill, the cabin we got was actually a small trailer. The steps leading up to the entrance were not attached, they were portable carpenter stairs. As we walked up them a few times they slowly separated from the trailer and the first morning when we got up to fish in the dark my old mans leg fell through the gap between the trailer and steps. I thought he broke his leg, I literally had 911 on my phone and really close to pressing dial. After a few mins we realized he was ok and we decided to go fishing. We stayed for about 4 hours then left the lake all together. His leg hurt so bad he didn't even wanna fish. Our 3 day trip turned into a 4 hour trip, needless to say I will not be back at whippoorwill. What made it bad was that the lady that runs the place said she knew about the steps and you just have to "be carefull" with them. My vote is Talquin Lodge, I have never stayed there but it can't be as bad as the other option....

Give Pat at Lake Talquin Lodge a call. (850-627-3822) She has cabins, motel rooms and boat slips. Reasonable. I have a camper there and so do many other C.C members who will be glad to see you and share conditions with you. Give me a holler when you are come.

See you soon. February is a great month.

If you stay at Lake Talquin Lodge, many of the locals meet at the store around 6:15ish to decide which area of the lake to fish. Usually get good idea of where to fish and what to fish with. I stay there a lot, give me a hollar and hopefully we can start you off in the right direction.

are you sure this was whippoorwil? i don't remember them having any small cabins. there is a place next to them that has small cabins. Jeff is the owner of the whip and it has always been a great place to stay and great restaurant. They mainily have condos and a lodge for rent. Can't remember the name of the camp next to them.
